The California Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the legal challenge to prop 8 yesterday. I sat outside taping the feed from the proceedings for KQED … They don’t let reporters bring any electronics into the courtroom.
While listening to the orderly legal arguments, I had front row seats to the heated demonstrations outside. Prop 8 Supporters and opponents were all amassed together in a chaotic mess of emotion. Both sides were in the awkward position of affirming their own virtue while mercilessly hurling epithets at others.
The day’s big winner? Ken Starr… which means no one came out looking very good at all.
